Bellefeuille: what to know about the new riding

Bellefeuille is one of the two ridings added to Quebec's map for the 2026 election.

**Bellefeuille** will appear at the 2026 general election. The new riding is created in the greater Laurentides and Lanaudière region, where the growth in the number of electors has been the sharpest since the previous map was drawn. Élections Québec indicates that this greater region saw its electorate grow by 11.6%, compared with 4.8% for Quebec as a whole. Adding a seat is meant to better reflect this electoral weight. The name Bellefeuille recalls a former municipality that occupied the western part of Saint-Jérôme. It also refers to the Bellefeuille River and to the historical figure Eustache-Antoine Lefebvre de Bellefeuille. Because it is a new riding, Bellefeuille has no official result of its own for the 2022 general election and has no incumbent member in the strict sense under these boundaries. Territories that make it up took part in the previous election within other ridings, but their results must not be added together or transferred without a documented geographic method. Bellefeuille's profile on LeQuébecVote.ca therefore uses the 2026 map as its reference. Any historical data must be presented as context for the predecessor territories, never as an official Bellefeuille result in 2022.
