Hire 5,000 qualified educators by 2030 in order to create 30,000 new CPE (early childhood centre) places, with a salary catch-up for educators and support staff negotiated as soon as their collective agreement ends, pay for the final internship of the college diploma (DEC) in early childhood education, paid continuing training, and a campaign to promote early childhood professions. Announced cost: $610 million per year in 2030-2031, plus $1.2 billion in infrastructure investment over the first mandate.
