Invest $550 million in prevention and $150 million in CLSCs, and lift caps on medical school admissions

Reorient the network around prevention and public primary care: add $550 million over four years to the public health budget, invest $150 million over four years in CLSCs to make them the network's entry point, lift caps on medical programs, allow medical programs to open in regional universities and graduate 200 more doctors per year from existing faculties. In its September 19 news release, the PQ specifies that this prevention envelope makes fighting overprescription one of its priorities: a strategy for the optimal and safe use of medication, a multidisciplinary approach in primary care, hiring more pharmacists in the network and early interventions in ADHD screening.
